Seattle and/or King County should reverse the I90 express lanes to better match today's commute loads: eastbound in the morning, westbound in the evening

    Should do this

The commute for those who live on the westside & work on the eastside is now much worse than the the opposite commute. You can see this on the traffic cams any day of the week, and you can see it just by driving it (that commute has about a 4-hour long “rush hour” wheras the reverse commute’s rush hour is about an hour long). Reversing the I90’s express lanes could help alleviate this.

And we don’t have to guess: It’d be cheap to test it. We could run I90 backwards for a two month trial period, and measure the traffic. If it’s better overall, keep it. If it’s not, go back.

Simple, reversable, and doesn’t require new construction.

    What do you think?

How likely is this to happen?
